Is a Medical Spa Membership Right For You?

Medical spa memberships help make treating ourselves easier and are rising in popularity.

At Ooh La La Spa, Anti-Aging & Wellness in Glen Carbon, our Smart SCIN Membership options allow people to budget money each month to achieve their healthy aging and beauty goals. In addition to discounts on product and Botox ($2 off per unit!) and special rewards throughout the year, each membership includes a quarterly skin analysis to track progress of your treatments ($600 annual value).

“Many people feel it is easier to spend $150 a month for the Botox, for example, rather than coming up with $450 every three months,” said Dr. Kristen M. Jacobs, founder & owner of Ooh La La Spa and best-selling author of Live Life Beautifully (With a Little Help). “It’s a great way to spread out your payments to make the treatments and products you want more attainable.”

So, how do you know if a spa membership is worth it? It all depends on how often you go to the spa, the number and type of treatments you currently enjoy and how much you want to prioritize self-care. If you book self-care appointments around two to three times a year, a spa membership may not provide much benefit.

However, just like a gym membership, generally, if money is coming out of your bank account each month, the more likely you are going to use it.

All of our skincare treatments and products are centered around Dr. Jacobs’ SCIN + Body Philosophy. The SCIN stands for Skincare, Collagen, Injectables and Nutrition.

Skincare could include DiamondGlow® Facials, Chemical Peels, Limelight IPL Photofacial, Laser Genesis, Pearl Laser, AviClear® acne laser treatment & medical grade skincare products from SkinMedica and Colorescience.

Collagen-stimulating treatments including Ultherapy, Pearl Laser, Microneedling with PRP and Thermismooth.

Injectables are our favorite because you get immediate results! We offer Botox and Dysport for treating wrinkles and fine lines, Kybella for reducing stubborn fat under your chin, and Facial Fillers from Juvederm® and the RHA Collection®. Dr. Jacobs is a certified Allergan trainer and loves training other providers all around the country on the medical artistry of Botox and Fillers. Ooh La La is a Top 1% Allergan Injector clinic.

Nutrition is an important part of having healthy, glowing skin so we always recommend supplements and a healthy diet. Dr. Robert Wise, our wellness director, can help you create a plan that will help you reach your goals.

For Body, we offer CoolSculpting Elite, a nonsurgical fat reduction treatment that freezes fat cells on stubborn trouble spots and eliminates the cells permanently.

Following this approach, it’s all about prevention, protection and reversal of damage. Most of these treatments and products are part of our Membership options!

As Dr. Jacobs says in her book Live Life Beautifully (With a Little Help), “Healthy aging begins with prevention and protection; reversal is only necessary when prevention and protection are overlooked. Both processes can be influenced by the right products and aesthetic services, and the earlier you adopt them, the healthier your skin will be.”

If you are still questioning if getting a little help with your skincare needs is right for you, take it from one of our patients, Beth: “I feel beautiful on the inside and out! I am so very grateful for the extra confidence that I have found. So many moms don’t take the time for self-care and self-love. It is so important to who you are as woman, wife, mother, [and] career person to love yourself [and] to take care of yourself so you can take care of others. I am worth it, and so are you!”
