What is Forever Clear BBL™ ?

Forever Clear BBL™ uses the power of intense pulsed light to treat acne at the source by zapping the bacteria that causes acne. Dr. Jacobs and her team can give you the clear skin you’ve been dreaming of without the harmful side effects of acne medications.

Forever Clear BBL™ is an innovative technology that that treats acne in 3 steps:
1. Blue light kills acne-causing bacteria that lives deep in your pores
2. Yellow light reduces inflammation and redness caused by acne
3. Infrared light kickstarts the healing process

BBL™ treatment is not a laser treatment. It uses intense pulsed light instead of the more focused light of a laser. While laser treatments are a single wavelength, BBL™ uses a broad spectrum of light that can be filtered several different ways to treat many different skin conditions. It also treats a larger area of skin than a laser.

What To Expect During your Forever Clear BBL™ Intense Pulsed Light Treatment

First, our team will take baseline VISIA scans of your skin as well as before photos. Then, we cleanse your skin, apply a clear gel to the treatment area and give you goggles for eye protection.

Once your skin is prepped, we perform a series of passes over the skin with the Forever Clear BBL™ device as it applies light flashes to the skin. The treatment itself takes 15-30 minutes depending on how many areas we’re treating.

You may feel a slight amount of heat or tingling during your procedure; this is normal and ends once your session is over. From beginning to end, your session may take 30-90 minutes, depending on the number of areas being treated.

After your Forever Clear BBL™ treatment, we cool the skin down and apply sunscreen. Our team will provide instructions on how to take care of your skin at home. Sunscreen is the most important thing you can for your skin post-treatment.

What to Expect After Forever Clear BBL™

After treatment, you may experience some redness similar to a sunburn that should resolve within a few hours.

There is no downtime and you can wear makeup and resume your normal everyday activities right away. You may have inflammation for one to two days, which can be treated with a cold compress or an antihistamine or anti-inflammatory. Your skin will be sensitive to ultraviolet light, so you must avoid direct sun exposure until your skin is completely healed. Fully cover your skin and use a good sunscreen. We recommend the Colorescience® line of sunscreen products and makeup.
