Your skin doesn’t like the cold season very much. During winter, it will get dry, uncomfortable and often itchy. So what can you do to make your skin happy and glowing even when it is below 32 degrees outside?
Here are some great tips to keep your skin radiant during winter months. They’re easy to implement and your skin will thank you for it.
Drink plenty of water
Drinking water is not only useful when it is hot outside and you are perspirating, but also when it’s cold as well. Skin needs nourishment all year long. So make sure to always carry a water bottle with you.
It doesn’t even have to be regular water. Hot herbal tea is also a great option, as it will not only warm you up, but will give your skin a healthy shine.
Put on a sunscreen
A lot of people make the mistake of using sunscreen only during summer. The sun is still up there, you know, and your skin still needs to be protected, regardless of the temperature.
When you leave the house, put on a little sunscreen. Most dermatologists recommend sunscreens with 15SPF or 30SPF, so get one of those.
Exfoliate at least once every week
Do you have any idea how many old dead cells can be on your skin? In average, you lose about 30,000 to 40,000 skin cells per 1 minute or about 2 million per 1 hour. That’s a lot of dead skin cells.
Once a week, treat your skin with a good exfoliant to remove all those dead cells from it.
Moisturize your skin
Whether it’s cold or hot, humid or dry outside, your skin loses a lot of its natural moisture during the day. Fortunately, moisturizers can help here.
Its best if you use a moisturizer that is about 80% oil, as it will help keep the skin soft and moisturized.
Relax your skin with oil baths
If you really want to treat your skin with something nice, put a little almond or jojoba oil in your bath. The oil will nourish your skin and the bath will relax you.
